Solar Lights in Kenya
All-in-one solar lights carry their own panel, battery, controller and LED in a single housing. There is no cabling back to a distribution board and no addition to your KPLC bill, which is what makes them the practical choice for perimeters, yards, access roads and gateways.
What we stock
3 products, KES 1,800 to KES 8,500. Prices exclude installation.
Choosing between the three
The 100W floodlight is for area lighting — a yard, a compound, a loading area — and includes a motion sensor and remote, so it can sit at low output and lift to full output when something moves. The 60W streetlight is for roads, driveways and pathways and ships with a pole bracket. The garden bollard is decorative pathway lighting at warm colour temperature.
All three run dusk to dawn on their own controller. Runtime through a run of overcast days depends on how much sun the integrated panel actually receives, so mount clear of tree cover and roof shadow.
Mounting and weatherproofing
The floodlight and streetlight are rated IP65, which covers dust ingress and driven rain. Pole height and spacing set the lighting level on the ground: a 60W unit at 6m on a 15 to 20m spacing is a normal starting point for a private access road, closer where the surface is dark.
Volume and project supply
Magna Lights Africa manufactures and installs street lighting at project scale, including county and institutional installations. For quantities beyond a handful of units, ask for a project quote rather than ordering individually.
Questions
How much is a solar street light in Kenya?
A 60W all-in-one streetlight with pole bracket is KES 8,500. A 100W floodlight with motion sensor and remote is KES 4,500, and a garden bollard light is KES 1,800.
Do solar lights work through the rainy season?
They keep working, at reduced reserve. The integrated battery is sized for normal overcast conditions; several consecutive heavily overcast days will shorten runtime towards dawn.
Do they need wiring?
No. Each unit is self-contained — panel, battery, controller and LED in one housing — so there is no cabling back to a board and nothing added to your electricity bill.
