Solar Installation in Nakuru

Magna Solar designs, supplies and installs solar power systems in Nakuru and the surrounding area as an EPRA-licensed contractor. Site surveys are free.

What we install in Nakuru

Grid-tied, hybrid and off-grid systems for homes, businesses, farms and institutions: rooftop and ground-mounted arrays, battery storage, solar water pumping, and maintenance on systems we did not install. We also carry out the electrical work to the standard EPRA requires, including protection, isolation and earthing, which is the part of a solar installation most often done badly.

Local conditions that change the design

Nakuru and the Rift bring a heavier agricultural component: borehole and irrigation pumping, greenhouse and store-room loads, and farm buildings distant from a grid connection. Pumping loads are sized on starting current and on the head the pump is working against, not on the pump's nameplate running figure, and they are frequently the largest single load on a farm system.

Where the load is pumping and the water can be stored, tank storage is usually cheaper than battery storage. Pumping during daylight into an elevated tank removes the need to carry that load overnight in a battery at all.

Areas covered

Nakuru Town, Naivasha, Gilgil, Njoro, Molo, Salgaa and Mai Mahiu, and the wider Nakuru County area.

How a job runs

A survey establishes consumption from your KPLC bills, measures the roof or ground area available and identifies shading through the day. From that we issue a specification and a fixed quote. On acceptance, a residential installation is typically three to five working days on site, ending with commissioning, testing and handover documentation. Grid-connected systems seeking net metering carry a longer administrative process with KPLC after commissioning.
